1. Personal Documents: Information on your personal identity documents:
• Passport
• Social Security card
• Birth certificate
• Any vital health records: Medications, Contact Numbers, etc.
• Copy of your driver’s license
• Marriage or divorce documents
• Military records
• Degrees and professional licenses or certifications
• Trust and or Will
• Insurance Policies: Auto, Life
• Certificates of Authenticity (artwork, jewelry…)
• Photo’s or Important Memorabilia
Financial and Business Records
• Make a list of all your Bank and Credit card accounts, the account numbers and their customer-service numbers. Keep most recent statement, but if you can access this information online, save the space for more important records.
• Put original Stock or Bond certificates, or, see if your securities broker will hold the originals for you and keep copies in the safe.
• Business records, such as employment contracts or partnership agreements, etc.

2. Property Documents
Real estate records, including:
• Deeds, titles, title insurance, homeowner’s insurance, real estate taxes, and home inspections for any properties you own.
• Documentation regarding any other large assets, such as vehicles.
• Prepare an inventory of household goods: complete with receipts for high-cost items. Make a list of your home contents to give to your insurance company should a claims need paid quickly.

3. Warnings –How Full Proof is your safe?
• Fireproof safes are not indestructible. A large fire could heat the safe enough to scorch paper or destroy electronic media inside.

NOTE: Make copies of any original documents you store in your safe and keep them in a separate location, preferably off-site…such as a relative’s house, your place of business or with professionals, such as your accountant or lawyer.
